Biennale Internazionale di Antiquariato di Roma, VIII edition 2012

It’s concluded, the eighth Biennale Internazionale di Antiquariato di Roma and, as the previous editions, it has seen the collaboration with the Soprintendenza Speciale per il Polo Museale Romano and the Associazione per Biennale Internazionale di Antiquariato di Roma that helped it to give continuity over time and to to ensure prestige and authority.

It was the triumph of beauty and quality to be represented in the sixteenth century Palazzo Venezia.
Sixty prestigious italian and foreign galleries have presented works of absolute exception from archeology to the twentieth century; visitors and collectors have finally found the authenticity and quality of the items offered.

It’s been a very lively Biennale full of events, book presentations with well-known writers and editors, evenings dedicated to influential banks and financial-insurance, bringing an Italian and foreign public, highly educated, attentive and interested in the purchase of works of art.

Important and well-known people from cultural, entertainment and political environment have crossed the threshold of one of the most prestigious event among the international exhibitions in the field of antiques.

Although the Biennale has recently endend, the preparations for the ninth edition have already begun and it will be held always at Palazzo Venezia from the 2nd to 12th of October 2014.

Biennale 2012 News

The Biennale Internazionale di Antiquariato di Roma, will promote, for the 7th edition, the “Cultural Event”. People will have the opportunity to see the three paintings representing l’Incoronazione di Spine (The Thorn Coronation), la Pietà (The Mercy) and la Flagellazione (The Flagellation) with their original colours thanks to the restauration. The paintings are kept inside the Cappella della Passione (Passion Chapel) of S. Maria in Aquiro

The extraordinary restoration of three paintings "Incoronazione di Spine", "Flagellazione" and "Pietà” from the Cappella della Passione in the Church of Santa Maria Aquiro in Rome, promoted by the Soprintendenza per il Polo Museale di Roma and funded with the support of the Antiquaries who participated in its eighth edition 2012, have seen in the Biennale itself the headquarters where you could admire the final result, before the paintings return in the Cappella.
